Susan has over 20 years of expertise in the nonprofit sector. She specializes in fundraising strategies, governance, leadership alignment, operational planning, risk assessment, and program planning and development.

Biography

Susan has over 20 years of expertise in the non-profit sector. Her roles include Executive Director (Looking Glass Foundation and Big Sisters), Director of Development (Big Sisters and Family Services) and National Director of Training (Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada). 

She has participated on several charity boards and has extensive experience with committees, including Executive, Governance & HR, Finance, and Program Development. Susan knows what it takes to excel, and how to address the inevitable pitfalls.

She loves coaching or mentoring non-profits, especially when program, leadership, and board members participate. Her goal is to help non-profits identify the initiatives and actions that will bring positive results with a reasonable use of resources. Her magic word is alignment – reach out to learn more!

Susan has a BA in Political Science (UBC) and an MBA (Ivey). She has completed the ICD Non-Profit Governance course and GBA+ training. 

She and her family are grateful to live and work on the ancestral lands of the lək̓ k̓ ʷəŋən peoples.
